Gerstein Crisis Centre is committed to fostering a culture of “mutual learning” at its workplace and will continue to engage in a variety of activities that support a learning exchange between existing and new staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
The contractual positions offered through this program, are for individuals who are new to Canada and have acquired work experience in the mental health field from their country of origin.
As part of this commitment, Gerstein Crisis Centre hires internationally educated individuals as Crisis Workers for a six month contractual term. These positions are specifically for individuals who are new to Canada and have acquired work experience in the mental health field from their country of origin.
The goals of this program are: to support internationally educated professionals in gaining Canadian employment in the community mental health field; to provide opportunities between existing and new staff to share equally in an exchange of knowledge, skills, and life experiences; and to strengthen the capacity of Gerstein Crisis Center in its provision of programs and services.
