Training and Mentorship

For individuals with lived experience who have demonstrated an interest in the mental health field, but due to mental health issues, have experienced barriers to employment.

The Training and Mentorship program is a 1-year full-time paid contract position that provides on-the-job training, workshops, education, external job placements, coaching from colleagues, and intensive supervision. This work experience helps participants increase their skills and ability to work in community mental health and social service positions. The goal at the end of the contract is to translate new learning into further employment or educational pursuits.

Individuals interested in this program must have personal experience with the mental health system, 6 months full-time work exposure in any field or equivalent volunteer experience, good written and verbal communication, be non-judgmental, and able to work under pressure.
