SafeTALK Workshop

Learn to Talk Openly About Suicide

Workshop Overview

About SafeTALK – Play a Role in Suicide Prevention

Make a connection to safety. Be part of the network of help.

LivingWorks safeTALK is a half-day workshop that prepares you to recognize when someone might be having thoughts of suicide and how to connect them to life-saving support. You’ll learn practical skills to help someone KeepSafe and guide them toward further help.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Notice and respond to situations where thoughts of suicide may be present
  • Reach out and offer support to someone with thoughts of suicide
  • Connect them to resources and people who can help keep them safe
  • Explore personal and community attitudes about suicide, helping you feel more confident in talking openly about it

Who Should Attend?

Anyone aged 16 or older who wants to support suicide safety in their community is encouraged to attend. No previous training or experience is required.

SafeTALK is for anyone who cares about the well-being of others and wants to feel more prepared to help. Participants come from all walks of life—family members, friends, students, co-workers, coaches, clergy, and more.

Whether you’ve experienced this issue personally, know someone who has, or simply want to be ready to help if the need arises, SafeTALK equips you with practical tools to recognize when someone might be thinking about suicide and connect them to the right supports.

By participating, you’ll play a vital role as a connector—someone who helps build a network of safety for your family, friends, and community.

Upon completion of the training, you’ll receive a LivingWorks SafeTALK certificate, recognizing your role in building a safer, more connected community through suicide prevention.
