Gerstein on Charles

10 crisis beds are available at Gerstein on Charles for short stays of 3-5 days. These beds are accessed through the crisis line at (416) 929-5200 following a mobile crisis visit.

Gerstein on Bloor

14 beds are available at Gerstein on Bloor and offer up to 30 day stays:

  • 9 are Mental Health and Justice Short-term Crisis beds. These beds, which are accessed through the Central Bed Registry at (416) 248-4174, must be referred from a Mental Health and Justice referral source (PDF) and are part of a 34-bed network across Toronto.
  • 5 are for individuals who identify as female and are currently houseless who are dealing with a mental health crisis. These beds can be accessed by self-referral by calling the 24-hour crisis line at (416) 929-5200. Service providers can make referrals to these beds by calling Gerstein on Bloor at (416) 604-2337 referral form (PDF).

In Partnership

7 Substance Use Crisis Beds are available for individuals dealing with concurrent or serious substance use issues:

  • 6 Concurrent Crisis Beds are available for men through our partnership with the University Health Network at the Ossington Withdrawal Management Site
  • 1 bed for youth 16-24 is available through our Partnership with Eva’s Satellite.

These beds can be accessed by calling the 24-hour crisis line at (416) 929-5200 or from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm through our Substance Use Crisis Team at (416) 962-0220.
